Souf Alon
Keramikk / Leire
In her practice, Alon focuses on the tension between the material and the craft it represents while she refers to the historical links and the ongoing dialogue between the female body and clay. Through research of different community traditions, archeological findings and local clays she examines the reality she crafts in recent years through a contemporary lens and propose alternative ways of perceiving cultural material. Her working methods are driven by the desire to reimagine her relationship with the material while she is aiming to draw challenging connections between different media that are related to material practices, and propose an inquisitive eye.
