By combining her interests of function and fantasy, Shitika’s aim is to create pieces of artwork that not only can be represented on their own as hybrid sculptural objects but can be functional body jewellery such as face masks and body armour. Her aim is to present movement within the static formations. A slight deceptive property to the eye where these formations create an illusion of movement, by presenting elongated shapes that blend into a metal construction. She works a lot with photographing, drawing and repeating the layered process to then transform her drawings into sculptural 3D objects.Her aim is to continue to explore the making and use of recycled plastic in her works.
