Mari Bjørge
Keramikk / Leire
Mari Bjørge (b. 1987) is a ceramic artist and conservator who lives and works in Oslo. Her practice stems from a passion for different crafts, materials, techniques, and manual processes of manufacture. Her work is often based in different casting techniques and transformations of liquid clay to solid form. She sees her works of art as a continuation of the praxis of hybrid genre works within the craft field. They alternate the spheres of both design, fine arts, and sculpture. In the act of making them, she also transitions genres by lending techniques from different disciplines like photography, printmaking, and textile manufacture.
