I research materials. Making objects or installations based on, and built around, a chosen material. I have found ways to express ideas and feelings through material. I want to use tangible materials to communicate intangible concepts. Materials also have a social connotation attached to them, gold represents wealth, porcelain is noble, iron is strong. When combining the inherent characteristics of materials with its social connotation, you have the raw material to make an object that can engage with a social issue or reflect on humanity. Since 2013 I have been researching embroidery as a female task. I mesh sawing, embroidering and ceramics.
