Norway based artist Eunju Kang had her first education of ceramic art in South Korea. She then moved to Norway for further study in Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo in 2011. Eunju received several artist grants from Art council Norway and other public funds. Having to actively engaged in the local and international art scene over the past years, Eunju has established herself as a emerging artist.
Her works were are purchase by Bandal Art Museum/Korea Ceramic Foundation and Sangmyung university in Korea, as well as being housed by private collectors in Sweden, Denmark, The Netherlands, and Japan.
Ceramic vocabulary book series
Ceramic vocabulary book is an archive of craftsmanship in our time. Eunju Kang addresses the aesthetic value of craftsmanship by depicting workshop scenes from different places. In the course of the transformation of her work, the drawings are transferred to thin porcelain sheets. By cutting, layering and firing the material, she displays her own experience of craftsmanship.
