Lecture: Maria Huhmarniemi

Dr. Maria Huhmarniemi is an artist-teacher-researcher-activist-politician. She works as a visual artist dealing with issues relating to the North as well as environmental issues, such as human-nature connectedness and environmental responsibility, policy, and ethics.
 
“HÅNDFAST – A symposium on socially engaged crafts” was organized by NK Nord-Norge in connection with the Theme Exhibition 2022, under the title “The Hands that Unravel the Sweater.” The Theme Exhibition was a collaboration between Norske Kunsthåndverkere and Nordnorsk kunstnersenter, which took place in Svolvær from 18 June to 14 August 2022. The symposium was supported by Kunsthåndverkernes Fond.
